I feel like a kid in a candystore my daughter thinks I have lost my mind I have my nose glued to the window watching the mailbox I am not getting any work done(glad we own the place) Marans are sooo addictive.
I went out at 5;30 this morning to carry water it was 15* all of you understand but non chicken people think we are nuts, but its just so nice when the girls look at you like "thanks mom" it just makes it worth doing.
Sure wish it was spring already not this cold here most of the time hope this doesn't mean its going to be extra cold all winter BRRR!

Just wondering because I have really only kept the blues and splashes from my birds, anxious to see how the BC's will mature, if you get any. LOL! Bet you get more blues than anything.

Yes, she is GFF. Thank you! I wasn't kidding when I said that I was really liking all of the females from GFF. The boys may have been a loss, but the girls make up for it and are the ones that are going to give me the eggs....so it is a win win situation I think.

I don't care if they are a mix of blood lines or not......whatever happened, happened to be nice!!!

The truth is (according to Geebs)... when all the lines present with such a nice profile as that and they converge to look the same then we are getting close to a "standard".... I think no matter what all this work..... 20 years down the line will have been worth it....All our birds should look that good....Honesty I see Jesse in that bird and Cottage in the bird and Bev in that bird... that is a good start... It is looking like they should be....or getting there... this is only MY OPINION....others may differ... regardless....you better have an alarm on that coop...I hope she lays as nice as she looks!!! Even if she doesn't ... the crossing back should improve subsequent generation for type and likely for egg color as well.
