I am trying to catch up on the posts I have been out running errands all day.
Did someone ask for 3 French Hens? (this is an old pic from the beginning of the thread somewhere lol during the summer when they were going broody around here)

I haven't got a pic of that dark egg yet will try to get it done tonight or tomorrow.

Can just anybody go to the Newnan show or do you have to be a member of something? I am close enough to go...I don't think I wanna take any birds becauseI don't have a clue about what I should do or about showing etc.

These are a mix of cuckoos eggs - golds, silvers and regular cuckoos both in French and English. I know that I have at least four of the blacks with feathered legs and my one brown one has feathered legs as well, the others are clean legged English. I ended up with 8 blacks (two solid black and 6 with a white/silver spot on head), one brown and one yellow. So being a totally new maran mother can someone give me a color explanation.

Here is a picture of some of them, the rest are still in the bator drying (1 bantam orp in the pic)

Question?? I have two Black Copper Marans, 30 weeks old. First egg was Sunday, second egg was Monday and 3rd egg today.. First two eggs were not that dark --maybe a #4 BUT today's egg was much darker! Could this the same hen or has both started laying?? All three eggs are the same shape/size and has just a few tinyvery very dark freckles! I am thrilled....

For the giant mosquitoes, 4 very different seasons, including 5 to 6 months of winter, the great lakes ( like having an ocean on all sides of your state) and last but not least the ability to hold up your two hands and show people where you live in the state and have them understand every time!!!

If you don't love Michigan Wynette, you would be plum crazy to live here. And even crazier to raise chickens here!

Kansas is good for me! Especially if that means folks coming through Colorado! YES!

Colorado is my most favorite state ever! I especially like the Ouray area. Spent a summer there when I was in my teens! LOVED IT and think if it often.

Math~ I would have to be counted out if it is only a girl thing. I go nowhere without my DH, we are joined at the hip.

Pink I agree about Colorado...our oldest son teaches high school; out there and coaches girl's basketball. We get out there at least once a year to visit. Really cool state with some awesome places to see.
