Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

I thought of one other thing you might want to sign up for and that is printing your shipping label online. This way delivery conformation is free and the USPS also gives you a kick back on the shipping. If anyone does very much shipping I recommend you sign up for PAYPAL and make life more simple as buyer can send money instantly and you do not have to sit around wondering if the buyer is going to pay or not. All I do is drop off my packages at post office no waiting as everything is already completed.

Kathy, I forgot to mention the half egg cartoons , glad you brought it up, I run a piece of shipping tape around the entire box.

If anyone ever has to buy a different size box as I sometimes have to do, Uline.com is the best I have found. They have bubble wrap, Popcorn styrafoam, and any size box that is made. Don

35 week old FBCM still not laying -- problems? or don't worry? A few days ago she was acting strange but eating well. It only lasted one day.. I watched her for several hours yesterday-- she loved being out and there was no sign of problems.. Her sister has been laying for a couple of weeks and lays a beautiful, really dark brown egg -- averages 5 per week. All my chickens are in an enclosed run and haven't been free ranging at last for weeks now... So she isn't hiding them..

Since her sister has only been laying a couple of weeks - - - I would not worry. Each girl starts in their own sweet time. Somebody has to be the first and somebody has to be the last . .. . .

I've seen a 10 week difference in starting times in siblings. . . .

I packed mine very similiar to this. I did not have packing peanuts, so I used shredded newspaper. I double wrapped each egg individually in bubble wrap.

I was planning on using packing peanuts in the future.

Hey, cool page menu they added. When did that happen?

Question for all you with blues. Not copper blues, but the solid blues - whether BCM based or not. What do you do with the blacks from your breedings? Or do you only breed Blue to Splash? I so rarely see blacks on this forum, I'm just curious. Seems like there should be some out there.

Anyone ever hatched out a CRAZZZZY chick. It just runs and runs and runs. Zips in and out of the group, Over the group, Under the group, and into the big opens spaces. Runs when no one else is moving. Runs when every one is eating, drinking, and hanging out,

CRAZZZZzy chick - - Ever had one ?
