Oh, by the way, chicken math has been working at Ivywoods. Yesterday I brought home 33 8-month old pullets. 23 white leghorns, 10 rhode island reds, two large feeders, two large waterers, several small feeders and waterers, two bags of layer crumbles, a big plastic trash can to put the feed in and several dozen eggs.
The people that had them had gotten them for their son. Their son moved out and they were tired of taking care of them. So I bought the whole shebang for $200. The pullets are all in really nice condition and are laying like crazy. I'm going to have to find a good source for egg cartons in a hurry!
This is going to be my "workhorse" flock that will hopefully help support my hobby birds.
