So how did you package them?

Congratulations! You must have packaged them great. How far did you have to ship?

I shipped them 1/2 way between you and me - -- - they went to TEXAS.

How do you remember what everyone has?

As far as I know Flagarden girl still has not set up her breeding pens for this year.

You tell me and we'll both know.

Seriously.....I have this thing.....once I have read something and/or seen/heard something, it sticks, not all of it, but facts or a name or a number. Not photographic, but something.....I can still remember patients addresses, phone numbers, family contacts, employees home phone #'s (their cell and pager #'s have faded, thankfully), patient food allergies, patients and caregivers pets and childrens names, careplans, patients hours of service and 135 employees schedules ......all of this still in my head from more than 7 years ago, needlessly. Phone numbers are the worst.....my old inter-office nickname used to be "dex" as in roll-a-dex, I could spit a number out for anyone when they asked for it, secretly, I hated that. Now I remember everyones room addition sizes, shower sizes, how many squares their roof was, or how many sheets of sheetrock and boxes of mud we used at so and so's house.........make it stop.

I am trying to gain a fact....loose a fact, by pushing out all the old stuff and replacing it with chicken info.

flgarden has golden cuckoos, she is in Florida, I don't know that she has her birds seperated yet for breeding but I can tell you that she has some nice chickies!

There is also someone in Texas that breeds them.....can't remember who.....doesn't Wynette breed them too???......Lotsapaints in CA. has them, Chasehope in WA. has them (but haven't seen her around in a while).......GEEBS might could possibly be one to hook you up with some of her breeder friends....I know she knows folks who breed Goldens.
Sorry to hear about your little roos.

Ok thanks. I'll keep all these in mind. This morning the were up walking a little. I gave then both sugar water two times last night and also this morning. Im just hoping that the shipping was tough on the and they will be fine now.

bigspringshatchery ~ Have you tried giving them an electrolyte/vitamin in their water? I find this really helps all new chicks out, especially if they were stressed, as in shipping.

I have an extra Golden Cockerel culled for size not big enough for me but I don't ship......he's pretty and 6 months old I'm not NPIP either and have no idea on shipping. Just starting to get eggs maybe have eggs to sell in April. I would hard boil an egg shell it and crumble it up for those babies too. I hope with water and feed they'll perk right up for you

Well, I packaged them BEFORE I asked ya'll about it. . . .

So, I wrapped each egg in bubble wrap. Then I flipped the egg 90 degrees and wrapped it in a second sheet of bubble wrap. Tape each layer shut.
Then I shredded some newspaper in my paper shredder and layered the bottom of the box with it. I put 12 eggs in and decided there was enough room for one more. I figured the less room to roll the better. So, I wrapped another egg an placed it in the box. Then I shredded a lot more newspaper and surrounded and topped the eggs with shredded newspaper. It went into the priority $10.95 box and shipped.

Yipee, I am ready to do it again!
