Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Here are my shipped Marans eggs, just before I set them this evening.

There are 8 birchen, and 1 blue birchen

Typically, two of the eggs which smooshed were very, very dark... heres hoping for some more dark ones in the next batch to arrive!

I am so glad they all arrived safe and sound. It makes me very happy that you like them. Many many good hatching vibes coming to you. I hope you have a great hatch. Thanks for giving them a try.

BTW: Thanks for the pics...the natural light photos. Egg photo's taken in natural light are my favorites.

Oh for sure I could seriously be mistaken, geesh Mel, I've slept since then and now I really can't remember. I would have to see them to tell you for sure....and you very well could be right. When did you get them again? The older ones were about a week older or 5 days older right?
You got them sometime around the week of the January 17th right?

I've slept too...I don't remember. It doesn't really matter to me.
But I do see a new problem on the horizon. I'll have an incubator....and I'll have laying hens....but the only Rooster I have is a White Crested Black Polish...

Better get an incubator with 6 or 12 volt capacity! That way you can take it with you to Elk camp!
