I think proper packaging will save us.... I haven't had much trouble with breakage etc... Always a fantastic hatch rate... even in the bad weather... Have had some severely damaged boxes but the eggies come through pretty good... I hope this new shipping method with floral foam works as I only sent 3 eggs... If any break... well that is the end of my entry...

Well while we are talking about it.....let's all cross our fingers that just over 2 dozen eggs will make it safe and sound to Enggass in Maine by Friday of next week. They are being shipped on Tuesday the 22nd.

me too here in Hubbard.. They are lovely folks... they are sooo cute when they get the chickies in... I have caught them talking to the little peeps in boxes... reassuring them when no one thought they were looking...

That is it... I am putting hot chocolate out for mine this morning... She rocks!!!!

I am on a rural route and she always gives my doggie a treat!!! so super nice... She gets as excited about my egg shipments as I do.... Wish all of em were like that!!!

It just gets to me sometimes when everyone bashes the entire system. People don't get to see all of what is involved, and the poor carriers get all the blame when they show up with the parcel. Days this time of year are very stressful for the carriers, especially with the bad weather. You are out in nowhere land for hours, on your own if you are a rural carrier. If you break down, no one comes to your aid, you are SOL, yet still have to get that mail delivered somehow! Oh the stories I could tell, but I won't kill the thread any more!

Good morning.. the confusion about the Andalusians is all my doing. I should better phrase my sig line

I did consider getting Andausian chickens but the description just did not seem to fit my group so I have held off. Just rainy and wet here in the flat land this morning. The teenager chick pack met me at the feeders this morning. Did my chores and all's well and eating breakfast in the barn (sheep, chickens & horses) Time for me to head into town and park myself in front of a computer all day and "help" people who mess up their computers, accounting software... Gotta stop for a BIG coffee today. Brrr, if snows coming up in the hills I feel for ya!

BTW: I love my mail lady.....she ROCKS!!!!!! She is very thoughtful and when she delivers something to the door and I am not here she always leaves me a little pink sticky on the door saying "HI!"

Ha! Just got off the phone with the Post Mistress, and all is not lost. There is a possibility that they may come in this afternoon around 2pm via way of UPS. UPS and Fedex are picking up a lot of business from the PO in delivering parcels to the ruarl offices. My UPS guy is a sweetie, so he'll be nice to the eggs! The post mistress will call me if they come in so they don't sit in the PO overnight..
