Oh my gosh Raven! If it weren't for the Splash in the pics, I would swear those were my birds!!! The two pullets and the BlC roo look just like mine!! How old are yours now?

Off topic pic of my Silkies at 5 days old! Couldn't get all of them in the pic, but here is cuteness personified!

They hatched March 8th so 4 months. I just love them very sweet too! The girls will be moving to the "Big Girls" pen soon to finish growing out. The boys will both stay a while and see how they do but I am leaning hard toward the darker of the 2 he is a Gnarles look alike, out of Gnarles and Chloe.

I need to get some updated pictures of my "baby" Marans posted. I hatched 2 Black Coppers and 1 Blue Coppers from ruth's (Monique Wagner) eggs in early March. They've grown into beautiful pullets, one of the Black Coppers in particular is already very big, much broader than her two sisters.

My Blue Copper girl is a bit of a head case and won't let me come near her, I really hope she settles down as she gets closer to laying, she's so so pretty.

I got a bunch of marans chicks about 5 months ago and ended up with these boys. They were all supposed to be black copper, so what is up with the lighter one? (Sorry I'm new these are my first chickens)

floyd242 ~ Looks like a Black Birchen to me. They can pop up from time to time when the black coppers are carrying the silver gene. Black Coppers are birchen pattern, and the Black Birchens just have the copper replaced with the silver feathering. Lucky you, hold on to him!! Or...send him to me!
