Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Hi there,
I was hoping I could get some help with figuring out the breed of one of my chickens. When I bought her, the breeder said she was a French Blue Copper Marans. However, there's nothing copper about her. Her hackle feathers show more silver than anything else. Maybe she is a French Blue Copper Marans, but she isn't a really quality example? Either way, it's fine by me. I just wanted to make sure I was calling her the correct breed. She's 25 weeks old. Thanks for your help

How can you tell if it's a blue birchen? Is it a blue birchen if it has no coppering? (How do we tell the difference between a blue copper that just has very little coppering and a blue birchen?)

ChicksterJo if you look closely at her hackles they have sliver in them where they should have copper.
