I wonder if it's any different getting them shipped to Canada, and then sneaking them across the border?
If that were the case, I feel a trip to Niagara Falls happening sometime in my future!! Serious!

I have heard stories about how folks claim they have gotten them here, my question is it really all worth it just to say that a person has eggs or birds from France? The French are having some of the same issues with their birds as we are here in the U.S. and I will tell you that I have seen birds said to have been imported from directly from France and if this person did indeed import their birds, I believe we might be better off with what we are breeding here, no offense to anyone that truly does have birds from France. I couldn't believe what I was looking at when I saw them...I couldn't even guess as to what color variety one rooster was, I think he may just have been a little of everything. The hens looked okay and looked way more pure than all the roosters did. This persons egg color is not any darker than what we have here in the States.

Just my 2 cents.

my thoughts also ... thought it would be crazy exspensive. i got a email from someone asking aboutmy wheaten egg color but they said they have stock from people that imported directly from france ... my question is if uhave stock almost directly from france . what could u benifit from mr west virginia line lol .not thats thwres muchwrong with mine outher than he normal stuff everyone s gping threw after 5 years of breeding . why in the wprld would ha mix em lol

Good morning all

Well, not sure if the sinking feeling has hit just yet, but I do have five new little ones! 4 Blues, 1 Splash! There are still 8 eggs left in the bator, so we'll see what else may or may not happen. It just may be that my candling skills stink, need a brighter flashlight! I will take pics today, after I recharge the batteries in the flashlight to use in the camera.

Went to get water last evening for the dogs...no water. Checked the fuses at the electric pole that go to the wellhouse, they are fine. Went to check on the points in the wellhouse, and was met by a barage of MORE HORNETS!!! Sprayed best I could inside the wellhouse without getting stung and closed the door. Hopefully, they are all dead this morning. Then I still have to try to rectify the point situation. Hopefully, it's just the points got stuck or a hornet got caught in them, I can fix that. If it's the whole electrical box, then we are looking at more money, but I may be able to fix that too. If it's the pump, then I'm screwed. A new pump would cost around 100 bucks and the service call from the well man is about 200 bucks, and that's going by the last time I had to replace the pump! Trying to stay positive and will start with the hornets as soon as it gets a bit brighter outside. Always something around here...

Congrats on the chickies Debbi! Can't wait to see them!

I seriously hope that your water issue is easily fixed and that it is a very simple fix. I shudder to even think about replacing our pump....it's 750 ft. down.

I have fits if folks leave the water running or are disrespectful with the water around here cause I know they ain't a payin' fer it to be replaced if it goes out.

Thanks Pink. Boy, you do have a deep well! Mine is deep for around here, but the water is soooo good. If I remember, it's about 280' down to the pump. The pump before the one I had to put in lasted almost 20 years. This one was upgraded to a 3/4hp pump, and that's been at least 15 years ago.

As for the eggs coming into this country, seems to me they had to go through a quarantine of some kind too, but how does that work?? Me thinks some of the stuff coming in may be doing so illegally, and if that the case, they are jeopardizing the poultry trade in this country with possible diseases that we may not have here. I agree with Pink. I've seen pics of some of the "French" birds, and I was not impressed. Unless you are paying beaucoup bucks, they are probably selling you their culls!

glad you've got babies Debbi and I hope that you get more to pop out of the shell for you today.

I'm getting ready to head to work and boy do I feel terrible. I don't know what's wrong with me, but my stomach is really upset, but I'm filing in for someone that had a baby so its not like I can call and say, "hey....if you're done having that baby...would you mind going to work anyways?" hahaha

We'll see how it ends up going, but I am not enjoying today at all so far.
