Here is another pic. He is 4 months old. This chick hatched from eggs I got from peachick. I thought he was solid blue but I know she started out with blue coppers and bred them to be mostly blue.

The intentional mess that such a man will make will have you wishing that he had just stayed the heck out of the kitchen and continued to leave it to you. A mans' mentality might be limited ( for most men) but he will figure this move out in short-order....same goes with a lot of men where house cleaning is concerned... We (men) will wreck it instead of just doing it, so that you will not ask us to do it again! FYI...I take care of my own place..I am single. Marans, Marans,Marans....the spurs on my Cuckoo marans...............

DH is a meat and potatoes man. A handful of jerky, and a bag of potato chips...and he is self sufficient

I also have a barnie hen that has some killer spurs. I am trying to get a picture before I cut them off.
But you have seen my photography skills.

Mel, did they teach you guys that in school? Must have been in the locker room in gym class, because it wasn't shop. I was so happy to be able to get out of home ec and take auto shop!

I believe it's a fault although I was told the judges would appreciate if they were trimmed before the show!!!!

I guess you could say he is over melanized, because of the fact that the copper is being over ridden by the blue. What you are seeing coming through, I would think would more correctly be termed as "leakage". He probably won't ever have a real coppery hackle or saddle area, but will show some rusty coloring. If she started with Blue Coppers, this boy is genetically a Blue Copper, he just isn't expressing it. Just my thoughts, I'm sure Pink or Don will come in and correct me!

Well, phew! Glad I'm not the only one with a spurred girl! I watched them for a long time yesterday and the day before, and if a cockerel or roo even look at her cross-eyed, up come the hackles, and she will go after them! I'll have to catch her laying some day and crack the egg. I can't imagine any of the boys getting to her to produce anything fertile! Gees, that would be like romancing a buzz saw!
