Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Donna - yeah $350 in show fees, plus trailer, gas, time, etc. etc. down the tubes.....GAH!
Never do that again! lol

Hi Vicki!
Thanks! I'll do my best this weekend! I NEED to get that done!
Might be indoor pics again - crazy weather....

I just have my darkest BCM eggs and the Mille Fleur bantam Cochin project eggies!

My pens are freed up pretty well! (thank GOODNESS!)

I'm also hoping to make some more pens, so that I can separate out my blue ladies from the black ladies....or else more grow out room!
lots of plans - need to get building!

I'm starting to see the shape (I think!?), I can't wait to see if my picks are the same ones you like!!

I also have a guy coming up this weekend for POL pullets
wee.gif

so that will take some pressure off, too - the young girls can go up there until they reach maturity!!

Yes - I understand people wanting to get their birds out - whether for the breed or for advertising purposes, but WHY would anyone bring a bird with a DQ to a show??

Why even waste the $$, time, etc...

fantastic...its all a step at a time! You will get there! I really hope that guy comes to get your extra girls. I think I should have quite a few of mine going here in a couple of weeks. I just don't need as many layers as I have since I kept quite a few young ones over the winter and now with them all starting to lay...I have more eggs than I know what to do with!

Can't wait to see more birds!

Soooo, are the Birchen hens supposed to have red in their breasts??? Sheesh. Did you happen to get an upright pic of that Birchen roo? I'd almost bet he has a squirrel tail? Ok, I'm done tonight...I've seen enough!

no....no red or salmon in the breast of the birchens. I was only really half joking about not crying...I love the birchens and know they have so much work to be done, but man...its depressing sometimes
