Hi Kim, Looks like the male either has sprigs or even Carnation. It appears to have multiple points where the blade should be . Let me see if I can dig the magnifying light out and use it.
Kim and Lisa, the Comb faults are still there with the light. I have the large adjustable magnifying light that I use in my Antique Glass business. I have seen most of these DQ and faults we are seeing show up now in other breeds. I never seen the Carnation Comb before I got into the Marans. A person I know alerted me to the Carnation about five year ago.
After seeing the Blue female that was second place the 1st place female must of really been something else. One of the better type female I have seen.
