Thanks guys....

I'm at the agonizing backache and puking stage....reluctant to take the really "good" meds...
been at it for 3 days...

Donna - are you culling for middle toe feathers, too?
I'm trying to decide if I want to cull for middle toe feathers on chicks b/c I do LOVE my street sweepers....

Today, I moved a lot of my birds around
3 to the layer house
2 to a different roo
2 to single cages for egg collection

Plus, moved some all the chicks up a pen and brought the new kids down from the hatcher.

Vicki - I gave the Bryant roo two of the big framed girls, one who is on the darker side.
If things work out, I'm hoping for some larger framed, correctly colored kids!
I have to wait for them to clean out and then we'll see what hatches!!

(BTW so when are you coming to visit???)

haha I'm hoping I can come sometime...my friend down in Philly is asking me the same thing pretty much everytime we talk. I'd love to just come see the history as well...and to see if I could do some legwork on going through historical records of family for my research. I'm such a nerd, I love this stuff!

Morning! Checking in to see if everyone is okay?

Vicki~ Congrats on the hatch! That's a cute bunch o' cuteness! 1 Splash is not enough.

Cad~ I hope you are feeling better very soon. (I know you didn't ask me but I cull fo rmiddle toe feathers....you will find sometimes that they don't even need to have that middle toe feather to have one pop up in the offspring. )

Mountain MEL!!!!!! We have 9 Marans babies developing right along and we have 7 Olive eggers, possibly 8 OE's, not sure on the 8th.

They are due for lockdown on the 19th.

Thank you for the welcome! I recently got my first black copper marans chicks from sewandgrow. They are the cutest little chicks and the most active in the brooder! I am hoping that at least one of the three is female and will give me some beautiful dark eggs!
