I asked the same question waaaaay back (probably a 1,000 posts ago lol) and I was told splash..... hmmm.... I suppose they look kinda different....

Oh and the picture I posted, she is a bit younger there. She has darkened a bit. Her color is certainly blue next to a white/blue splash - but with the darker markings. She reminds me of a pearl

Your girl is splash. Splash will also have lighter color legs too. Splash is just the lightest of blue almost white with flecks of black or blue.... can't remember really. I have a Blue Rock that is still up for debate.... she looks blue-er than her splash sister, but she is VERY VERY Pale even in her legs.

I do think that is a roo, not sure it is a Marans. My cuckoo roos combs are MUCH more pronounced at that age... are his legs yellow or white?

It deffo is a maran i trust that woman more than anything. Im not sure havent payed attention will look at some photos showing its legs..

On a Non Marans note... we have survived the 4H Pig project... well almost. I just don't know what I would have done without Katelyn's (Cadeau) advice and support. The piggies are enjoying a last hurrah, DS wanted them to free range all day, but they started to eat the house (no kidding!) and are being put back in the pen, but not before a swim....

haha - they look SO content! (is that THEIR pool or a people pool??)
They'll try anything once!

We just survived ours...well almost...
My stepdaughter got Reserve Champion in Showmanship and her goat got 6th in his production class!!
THREE classes in a row for a 6th mth goatie who has never been off the farm was a LOT for him, but he was super!!
He was born confident and people loving

The trouble came when someone ELSE bought her goat at the auction yesterday

No idea what happened....now she's determined to buy him back.
I hope she works it out before he heads to the butcher (yikes)

Her other goat didn't make weight, so is still here!

I drove 2 hours to our big feed store today and met two ladies who work there and also breed chickens. I always get excited when I meet people who I can talk chickens with in person. One of the ladies told me she is getting black copper marans sent to her. I got excited and asked where she is getting her birds from. Mypetchicken.com was the answer. :/
She said she wants cuckoo marans too. I told her I have a blue cuckoo marans I want to give away and she said it is must be some sort of cross cuz cuckoos are only black.
I just smiled, bought my chicken feed and walked away bummed I hadn't really found someone to talk about chickens with. Sometimes I feel all alone out here..Lol... Thank god for BYC.
