Hey.....where's Debbi?

She's not been on much due to some predator problems she's trying to get under control. She has a red tailed hawk and some young raccoons giving her fits. She's not lost any birds, but is doing some work on pens I believe.

The MCC USA webpage is the one I am looking for.......the one where the SOP's are posted. For some reason when I try to find it on the web it only gives me the Yahoo group.

Hey guys, heard you all were the ones to come to about a stray chicken we've had wander up to our house. I have about a 1/3 consensus for hen, and 2/3 consensus for roo.
A little background info: She showed up to our home missing all of her back feathers and tail feathers (very ugly!). She has been living in our front flower beds and roosts on our front porch at night. She doesn't lay eggs. She "bok bok bok bokocks" a lot in the afternoon. She's filled out quite a bit in the past 2 months! Haven't heard anything resembling a crow come from her.
I dunno, what do you guys think? And what do you think as far as her/him being a maran?

This bird is a cockerel. He could be a Marans but there is really no way to be sure at this point.

I would venture to guess that he will be crowing before too long. Do you have any other roosters?

Any luck with the land search Kim? I've been looking for well over 4 years now and still am looking. Doh! There's a gorgeous place south of me, but would be a 40 min drive to work, and there's not much in the nearest town, but do think its a beautiful piece of property and even has a craftsman home that's original where people haven't butchered it. But, still on the hunt, probably will be for a while.

Might see about getting some photos of my younger birds as well if I can pull it off. They are a bit wild since I haven't been home much other than to feed and put birds away at night.
