Kim and Donna I am almost positive the light blue is Gnarles' boy and the dark blue is a Bill Sr.s boy! I have kicked myself a couple of times for letting the dark boy go! At the time I had a blue that was better but now not so sure. What are you gonna do. Happy for you Donna and glad you are close

Here comes the question that everyone probably always asks.......

Next year I'd like to hatch out some Black Copper Marans to add another line to my flock. I'd like to add for the darkest egg color and quality that I can afford, but that would also be available next year by fall at the latest. Any suggestions of trusted, quality breeders that I could look into and get unto a waiting list?

Elisha, your flock mix is great! What color eggs do you get, besides the beautiful marans brown eggs?

we get various shades of green, pinks, and light browns- and if the marans ever lay again we have light chocolate lol and soon some darker chocolate.....

Not the dark blue roo, sorry, he was making olive eggers. Do you remember what was marked on the eggs? They either said blue or black, Blue would have been the LIGHT Blue roo from pink, Black would have been the roo in my Avatar.

of that bunch of marans- the blacks had a much better hatch. What I was told (from the the guy who hatched for me) the ones marked blue had 4 and one marked black hatched. no idea who is who though

If I were to guess- the one that was marked black was the pullet I just posted pictures of. She has a different appearance then the other pullets..... and you know- for the life of me I can not remember which eggs were the darker ones lol blue or black? I want to say blue....
