onthespot: That black one is a black marans?
Wow...it is skinny, huh? I am looking for Black Marans in the FL area..or fertile eggs.
If anyone knows anyone (besides Bev), please let me know.
Thanks,
4kidZ

Nice roosters yesterday I took my cockerals to peachick and held one one last time and looked under his blue feathers and what do I see but beautiful perfect copper coming in

I miss them already but love the Ameraucanas, Welsummers, and silkie that I have instead wish I could have kept one thought.

I don't know how anyone could eat them either.. I bet that the black starts getting good groceries and he will beefup as it were. And I love your Chicken photo studio very inventive and worked well

I did get to rehome 2 of my Cuckoo Marans young Roos. A dear young friend of ours has horses, raises dogs and has chickens. Just so happen that he has 20 6 month old Sexlink Pullets all alone. Well not any longer. I believe these 2 boys will be very happy. Then we may have some eggs for swapping or sell later this spring. He has offered to let me come and get them. So we will see.. Has any of you ever crossed these before?

Again very handsome Roos there guys..

Gosh those birdies are beautiful!!!!!!!! Drom, what kind of camera do you have? The pics are so clear.

Awww, Henry, I am so sorry you can't keep a roo. Just a few more years, and you'll be on your own and able to have as many as you want. We sure love our roos. All of them.

Tina, love that paint color and eggshell finish.

We just painted our bedroom a similar chocolate.

We just blew some eggs and made ornaments. I wish I had kept all my Marans eggs and blew out the contents to make ornaments!

Hope everyone is well and happy. It is dang cold here. We had an ice storm and friday and lost power for a few hours. (which freaked me out as I have one more Marans hatch in) Luckily we got our power back. The last ice storm 10 years ago, we lost power for 6 days. It was HE double hockey sticks.

Bye all!

That's actually two roos. The first picture is my Alpha and the second one with too many points on his comb is roo #3 who really ended up surprising me. He is the nicest one of the 3 roos right now. I need to give them names.

You know, I swear that Purina feed is much better than what I had them on before. They have really filled out. I don't have a scale to weigh them with but now you make me curious. I'd kind of like to check their weights. Have yours continued to grow much more in months 6-12?

You know, it's just a Fuji FinePix 4.1 that someone gave me as a gift. It's not a fancy camera and for the last several months I have had some trouble finding the right settings-my pictures were over exposed or underexposed. The flash kept going off in the middle of the day for a while there

Anyway, I think maybe I finally accidentally stumbled on the correct settings for focus and exposure.

I've been seeing stories on the news about the weather back east. Hang in there and stay warm!!

OMG, you only lost power for a few hours? We lost it for 2 days. I wasn't sure if my last bc marans that hatched last would make it, the house got down to 50. They are 2 weeks old, but seem to be ok.
On a side note, I just wanted to complain

. I have hatched 3 different batches from people that have Davis birds, the first 2 are all cockerals(2 & 1) and the little ones look like they might all(3) be cockerals. I can't believe my luck

man, that stinks! out of Tipsy's debut clutch I ended up with seven fine pullets... home grown, but still. I'd rather have seven of my pullets than a whole clutch of Bev's roos!
