From the genetic guru himself (David Hancox) looks like my cutie Oona is indeed a Silver Salmon Marans!

now if only I could find another

I'm hoping one pops up again in future eggs or breedings from what my marans partner brings in for eggs for me to hatch for her. The wonderful thing is she's breeding for Golden Salmons, I'm not breeding for anything at the moment, but if I get another Silver Salmon of opposite sex to my baby here, ofcourse I'll work on that. Not feather shanked but with Davids help in the future (my friend talks to him) that won't be much of a challenge to genetically add in without hurtin the color with his guidance

Heres Oona:

Oona was hatched out from a batch of Golden Salmon eggies, there was another like him/her but it died the next day sadly. So I only have this singleton for now

Which would be..?

There isn't any way on earth I could spell that phonetically, but this link will allow you to hear it, if you hit the little sound icon. http://www.dictionarist.com/marans

My
husband speaks French, but with a British accent, if you can imagine that, so around here, it comes out sounding a bit softer than that.

This probaby isn't all that helpful, since no one that I know pronounces it this way- it's more like Muh-Rans' in the US.

I got my darkest egg yet today. She laid it in the middle of the fenced run and we had to fish it out with a pole since you can't get in that part of the run.

It's the egg on the far right - she also laid the other two but this one is much darker.

And I thought I would post pics of what I hope will be my Olive Eggers - they are the offspring from my blue EE who lives with my BC Marans. I have several and they are all a beautiful dark blue - some with muffs some without - some with copper heads some plain.

If I could only get my EE"s to start laying I could have some great contrast... I am gonna try olive eggers after the EE's start to lay... Yours look Great!!! I hope mine turn out that color...
