Everybody needs to remember that ALL "black copper" Marans have the birchen trait, since the black copper pattern is BASED on birchen (ER). The main difference between black copper and birchen birds is the presence of silver or gold. And a lot of "birchen" birds are carrying gold, so there's a lot of mixed flocks out there
Sorta seems like you avoided answering her question. I too like to know about feathers being on my Birchens shanks.
Maybe you can help me with my question. The first time you mentioned this, was after I showed pics of my Birchens, sorta giving everyone, DROM and me the thought that you were implying my birds had this fault. DROM asked for you to point out in the pics what you are seeing? Now I will ask, can you please show us pics?
We here in INDY are a bit slow, we like the books with pictures. lolol
PLEASE either illustrate with a pic, or here since you had mentioned it the first time after I posted pics, here use my pics to help you explain what you are trying to say. lololol Now I know one bird in the pics are had Ameraucana and Birchen Marans, I know he is not pure Birchen. Lets us know what you are seeing? I am curious and sure others are too.
