I have a genetics question; since nobody commented on my Blue Marans.....

If I put Blue Copper Marans together with Black Copper Marans ..... What will the results be? Are the resulting Black Copper Marans considered "pure?"

If I put my Blue Marans(with no copper) hens and roo and my splash hens (no apparent copper) together .... Will I get blacks also? I am thinking I would get, 50% blue, 25% splash, 25% black.

Geebs, Amazondoc, Pink Chick and onthespot can all answer, however, if you go to this link. http://kippenjungle.nl/Overzicht.htm#kipcalculator
Enter
the color type in the Choose Color for both the Black Copper and what I think they call Blue Gold, then click on To Chicken Calculator on the right, scroll down until you get to the button that says Calculate Crossing and click on it, it will give you the genotype, phenotype and theoretical percentages of offspring.
I don't know the answer to your question on the Black Copper Marans being pure, however my guess is the answer would be yes because at the calculator when I calculated the Blue Copper/Black Copper cross, the percentage of Black Copper pullet offspring had this genotype:

ERER co+co+ db+db+ pg+pg+ ml+ml+ Cha+Cha+ Mhmh+ di+di+ Ig+Ig+ cb+cb+ i+i+ bl+bl+ Lav+Lav+ C+C+ Mo+Mo+ b+- s+- Choc+-

And when I calculated a Black Copper/Black Copper breeding I got the exact same pullet genotype:

ERER co+co+ db+db+ pg+pg+ ml+ml+ Cha+Cha+ MhMh di+di+ Ig+Ig+ cb+cb+ i+i+ bl+bl+ Lav+Lav+ C+C+ Mo+Mo+ b+- s+- Choc+-

Oh, WAIT A SECOND, I take that back, it is NOT exactly the same!

Please jump in any blue experts and correct me if my assumption is wrong.

This is from David Hancox I believe.
Kind of vague on the Splash x Blue. Does that mean 100% Blue, but lighter? The Kip calculator gave me 50% Splash and 50% Blue

A Splash X Splash gives 100% Splash.

A Blue X Black gives 50% Black & 50 % Blue.

A Splash X Black gives 100% Blue.

A Splash X Blue tends to give a lighter Blue.

A Black X Blue tends to give a darker Blue.

I can never get to the kipcalculator site.
It must be blocked (computer at work) here, and my home computer is ancient and I can't get to it there either.

I wish there was some place that listed which Marans varieties can be bred together and which ones should not. Actually would like to know the results of what each variety would produce when mated with others. Maybe there is such a place?

Oh bummer,
Well all three of the breed club sites have detail in their varieties sections that I think is so helpful. The French site has lots of recommendations on which types of crosses should be avoided. You have to read through a lot of detail but it is good info.

Try this getting on it through this address: http://kippenjungle.nl/kruising.html It's the best source for information on breeding different color varieties I've found so far. What color varieties of Marans are you considering mixing? Maybe I can help you. Jeff

Kathy has a really good question Jeff on whether the black copper offspring of a Blue Copper/Black Copper would be pure Black Copper and at first when I ran it in the calculator I thought the genotype of the offspring was the same but now I just noticed it is different from a straight Black Copper bird

Yes, if you have Blue Coppers and Black Coppers together the offspring will be pure black coppers and pure blue coppers.

If I put my Blue Marans(with no copper) hens and roo and my splash hens (no apparent copper) together .... Will I get blacks also? I am thinking I would get, 50% blue, 25% splash, 25% black.

Blue and Splash mating will result in Blue and Splash offspring.
