Oh Geebs... I'm so sorry...

That's just WRONG.

Well, these little boogers hatched back in February... they're 9.5 weeks old today. Just thought I'd share, and hope that y'all will share some thoughts/observations. They're still evolving, obviously.

Mrs. AK~
Those babies are beautiful and I can see the copper..

Looks like you pretty much called the boy girl thing spot on! Once again....nice birds!

My experience has been the opposite. So far, 4 years, I've not had one agressive rooster to humans. If anything, they are on the wimpy side.

Of course, I don't handle or pet my roosters at all. I firmly believe that makes a rooster agressive.

Only one of mine is a handful. You just can't be around him. It seems he only attacks me when I have something in my hands, food, water, treats. You can't turn your back on him or you will get slammed.

*I did name him Sid Vicious after the bass player, but I guess he is living up to his name?

My Splash roo has an issue with the water bucket....when I carry it out of the pen he goes after the bucket..NOT ME....the bucket. If I stop and put the bucket down he stops and turns away, the second I pick up the bucket he goes after it again, other than that a person can do anything with my roos. I do handle them and I handle them alot. My very dark blue copper roo is a big huge baby....he is just like a puppy and follows me around until I pick him up. He is content to just hang around sleeping tucked up under my arm.

Upthecreek Are these Wade birds? The first one looks really Wade if it is a hen... The only one I would call a roo at this stage of the game is number 5... It is still a maybe on the rest... It could go either way on the other 4.... (being Wade birds)... I have only had one Bev that "rooster feathered" late.

Absolutely gorgeous show stoppers!!!

It is my birthday... I hope I get a rooster from my pipping BHB birds!!! (I am wanting a rooster!!)... Send out rooster vibes!!! (good colored rooster please!!!)...

I am wanting a roo from my Cree's also... (that is still 2 1/2 weeks out yet)

I will have something good to offer next year...

I have pulled the offending roo.. The gal that did a test hatch is going to keep watch on it for a while and see what it turns into..... The rooster hatched from the darkest egg I have ever had. Too bad about the partridge gene... He is outta here!! Anyone local wanting him for olive eggers or Wellie crosses or something...He is up for grabs... Not for breeding marans... I will eat him first.

Boy am I glad I only sent out test hatches... I only have a few I am responsible for... The main breeder well he has millions at this point...So sad....

I should probably run a thread or post the rooster on the Chickenstock thing this weekend

Those pictures above are 1st generation chicks from birds I hatched from Patty (OnTheSpot) last year. I believe the girls are Wade Jean/Ron Presley lines? Patty?

I am not sure about my rooster... I need to find my notes...

I will be keeping all of the birds I hatch this year until they're at least 6 months old before selecting the keepers. I know how much they change while growing up.

Happy Birthday Geebs!!
