Here ya go Pinkchick: and any of you other PNW's. The rain gave some repreive yesterday and there they are..My BC Wade's basking and grooming in the sun. (They are going into molt so excuse the tattered feathers...They are soooo due. They have laid right through winter for me... They get their time off with no complaints from this gallery.

Here is the baby... the only one that hatched on my Birthday... It was a shipping thing... The humidity maybe played a small role but the eggies were scrambled... I opened them and they were mostly yolks... I couldn't imagine the post office could give these guys such a shaking. Donna is the Rock star of the packaging world!!! I should name this little guy Bubble Boy.

He looks very rooey to me... Big feet... pretty face.. Roo feathered... (I dearly hope it is the roo of my dreams)

His name is Lucky B.

Soooooo out of my 8 Marans chicks.....I got 3 pullets.

To compensate I bought 6 RIRs from the feedstore, sexed as pullets (from Ideal hatchery)

yes I am breeding a few F Blue CM I have one hen with Marty and she produces very nice offspring. I have some pics of some that I have sold if you would like to see. her hatch rate is nearly 100% and so far she has made mostly blue copper pullets but I did hatch out 2 this year that were all blue with no copper.

There is a pic of her below, she has wonderful lacing as do her chicks.

I took some new pics of the flock yesterday some are up and comers that I have held onto that are a POL and I am anxiously awaiting their first egg!

Also I have officially trained Marty to not crow, or almost never crow when he is outside, I even see him go inside the coop when he wants to sound off. Months of me rushing out to carry him back inside when he felt like crowing has made him realize that the less he crows in the afternoon the longer he gets to freerange or be in the run. He crows inside all morning and then at noon he goes out for about 2 hours, then he goes back inside where he literally crows for 15 minutes straight, then from 4:00 till dusk he is back outside and during that time he doesn't usually make a peep even when he hears the silkies crowing. I would not think it was possible had I not seen this behavior myself

I just love him so much he is such a good smart boy

for some reason only this one hen would pose nicely for the pics and she is the one with very little copper, all of my other girls have just the right amount of copper, but I am waiting to see egg color from this pullet before I make the final decision on whether or not to cull her.

If you are ever in the market for a really nice cockerel let me know Marty is produsing offspring that looks just like he did at that age and I have been getting reports from those that got some that they are filling in really well. I kept one also as a back up God forbid something happens to Marty and he is a splitting image of marty just smaller I will try to get a pic of him later, he lives with the flock but Marty does push him around a lot but never harms him, yet another reason I love Marty so much. Also his offspring are supper sweet as well just like he is, I recently had a family with young twin girls come and pick out a cockerel of their own after meeting marty and falling in love with him. I choose 2 for them to pick and they eachj took turns holding them and both birds just sat in their hands and did not struggle at all, they had a hard time choosing just one lol

I have a couple of copper blues, and a blue hen. This is her photo.

I only have 2 copper blue hens in with copper blue roos, but my juveniles should be laying soon. I am setting all the cb eggs & selling the chicks.

I'm getting nice lacing on her offspring as well.
