March 2017! Hatch with us!

That is interesting. My RIR hens every so often lay an egg close to your rosy egg. I have to look close at the BR's egg because of that, but hers is light pink and if you look very, very close it is almost a speckled light pink...the color is not even in other words but the "specklng" is tiny, tiny. Hubby can't see it at all and I have to look close. I don't think the BR has ever laid anything but pale pink eggs.

I just took pics. I'm trying to figure out how to load (from the phone) multiple pics per individual post.

Aaah! Chicken math has bombarded me this month! Four of my calico Polish hatched on the 14th. I also set 12 CCL and 6 BBCM's on the 4th, Ravynfallen's 15 Ameraucana, Americauna/CCL, and Ameraucana/BBCM's on the 12th, 12 CCL's on the 15th, 14 of Alchemist Farms' Sage eggers on the 17th and I will be receiving and setting 12 Alchemist Farms' CCL's this week, and 12 more CCL's from another breeder next week!! Aaaaaah!!

nd I'm freaking out at 3-4 dozen for the Easter hatchalong

I am at a loss the eggs I have in the incubator have done nothing not a one Saturday was day 21 but no pip yet temp has been constant and I dry incubated them at 30% until lockdown then 70% after lockdown only factor I had was I had to put the eggs from my bantam in it after I found they were abandoned and I got 10 hatches from 11 eggs I will let them stay in until my new eggs get here but then will have to clean it out and get ready for them after I let stand for a day. But where did I go wrong??

So today will be day 24? The humidity you ran seems to be spot on with what I ran, and got a 90% hatch rate so that obviously isn't the problem as long as you know your hygrometer is accurate. So the only question at this point would be the temperature? If you ran lower than you thought you were running that would obviously delay the hatch. So if you're 100% sure your thermometer is accurate, and all the eggs had movement at lockdown then I'm at a loss with you. I have read on many sites to give them till day 25 just incase you do have late bloomers. But I would definitely check, and recheck your hygrometer, and thermometer to make sure they are reading true. Also perhaps you've already said this but what incubator are you using? I hope you get some surprises in the next two days.

Went into lock down today!
Do you have chicken (eggs) in lockdown? Or are these guineas (your screen name). If you're a guinea lover, I'd like to ask you a few questions about them. I love them, they are starnge birds at the surface, I'm considering adding them to my flock family.
Plz let me know if it's better to ask on this thread or if to p.m. you is ok?

It went great - I'm not sure our local peeps quite understand that $15 for a SFH is a deal! I will keep worrying though, until I hear they got home okay.
If they're even coming it means they must be familiar with fair market value and local asking prices for SFHs. I trust a person like you would also only as a fair price rather that try to fool anyone. You're up standing! Stand by yourself and let us know how it went. Remember you put in lots more energy than the dollar price for these chicks!

18 eggs. I didn't feel like I candled well so I left all of them. All of thrm are on lockdown. One is out completely knocking into everyone. One is wiggling a lot (hoping it's head isn't down) and another one just popped a piece of shell off. Blue copper French Marans and olive eggers
Do we have any more chicks this morning? I am still also trying to get the hang of the candling which I don't do at all well. But with those breeds many ppl have said the shells are too dark, hard or both to make it a clear candling.
You're this far in and they're hatching so it must be going well! I can't wait to hear this morning's news! (Coastal clock, hurry up.)

I got lil bumblebees!! I got 5 so far. This is a really bad hatch and I'm not sure what's wrong. I think the source of he eggs I got may have accounted for a lot but so far I had 7 hatch, 2 were dead this morning in incubator and one was pipping and died in egg. Humidity has been between 52-65% and I'm at 99.2-100 degrees on my thermometers.
But I have 10 eggs left with 3 more pipped but 2 have been pipped since 7 this morning. Resisting urge to help but I am confused what's going wrong here. Started out with 36 eggs, 21 went into lockdown but 3 were quitters plus 2 more I think so at Most maybe 5 more chicks I'm guessing. 5/36 is the worst hatch ever
That's really hard and I'm sorry it;s happened to you. This month has seemed especially challenging on many of out ppl and hatches here. I don''t know why...
I hope the others do great and stay that way!
