March 2017! Hatch with us!

Quick update, ten hours since the first pip. A little over 20 pipped that I can see and 3 out. 4/32 brown eggs, 12/32 blue eggs, and 4/36 sulmtalers. I'm pretty sure that the sulmtalers hatch a little later though. The first pip of them was 6 hours ago.

I really tried to get involved with the Easter HAL last night (reading posts, etc) but I just couldn't do it. So, I will be hatching with the April hatchalong if any of you wonderful peeps want to join the second verse of this hatchalong song... or third verse... or fourth...or eighty-fifth... :old

Things got even weirder with my extra chick. It is definitely not a silkie. I posted about it here. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...stery-chick-that-just-appeared-with-my-broody

Very odd. I'm stumped. :/

I need to look at your chick pic on the bigger screen. Phone too small and my eyes are awful. Lol

Pretty chicks!

I just moved my Feb and March hatchers to a brooder in the barn. It's strange not having them in the house, but it was time for them to move outdoors. I can only manage chicks in the house for so long.

Same here too. I only have 3 1-month-old seramas inside right now. It's so weird lol!

Great idea! I checked the stats on that Easter HAL, and I think there were more posts in one week than we had in our entire March HAL. With so many people, it can get confusing and impersonal. One beautiful thing about your March group was the sense of connection and community.

With nine healthy chicks in the brooder, I've promised not to hatch this April, but I shall pop in to cheer and learn. Once I get some peafowl eggs, I'll be hatching with a later verse.

I told myself I was going to take a break too, but had a customer come and buy all the little chicks I had, and she reallllly wants some SDW OEGBs, so I loaded the Octagon 20 with 36 eggs last night! :D Seramas and SDWs.

Oh and I have 19 lav orp eggs locked down last night. From 22 set, 2 clear, one quitter. Not too shabby!
