March 2017! Hatch with us!

:weee

Due to hatch in March (as of today) -- Lavender orpingtons, bantam cochins, silver duckwing OEGB's, self-blue OEGB's, seramas, Ohikis, chocolate orpingtons, and Call Ducks!!

The LO's, CO's, cochins, SDW's are from my own flocks.  The SB's, OH's, and Calls are from @RavynFallen
!!  :ya

We meet again, my friend!! :highfive: I keep reading that Calls are hard to incubate. What makes them that way?

:highfive: Their stubby little bills are the main issue. Makes it hard for them to zip.

And I did a quick check today (only day 4) but confirmed 100% fertility and development! So surely I can get a few to hatch out of 23 eggs!?! :D

What color legbars do you have? Are they laying or just chicks? CLs are high on my wish list!

Joining. I'm expecting some araucana and BCM eggs in the mail tomorrow. I will let them rest and start the incubation march 4th.
*sigh* I have an addiction to hatching.

Good question...I won an auction on BYC and then the ones from Papa's. I guess I will just be surprised by what pops out! This is my first foray into raising a few new breeds, so I am very excited about this hatch!!

I'm not sure anyone here thinks that's a problem :gig Its great to have you along! I hatched a few BCM eggs in December. - besides being somewhat difficult to candle, they were some of my most successful hatch rates! Here's hoping for the best for all of yours!

X2! Good company!

Self-blue is the same as lavender. Different breeds seem to call them one or the other. Lavender Orpingtons, Ameraucans, etc. Cochins, OEGBs go by self-blue. Same lavender gene. I wish they would all use lavender, it's more distinguishable from BBS blue.

And I confirmed 100% development on my call duck eggs this afternoon. 23 eggs developing, day 4. Yeah!
I've got LOs in also! Mine are due on the 12th! I love those beauties!!
Thanks for that information. I would have never guessed. I thought the "self" name meant it was auto-sexing.
