March 2017! Hatch with us!

oh by the way they are all cochin barn yard mixes and I have 1 silkie hen and 1 serama hen in the mix so should be interesting

You will have so much fun as each one hatches with such a cool variety! I did a couple of hatches with black sex links who ended up being predominately male, "Oh look. It's another black chick with a white head spot..." Not much variety! :p

I learned something this weekend about my prospective freezer boys: Once they hit sexual maturity, if they are nice and you advertise them on CL as "respectful" for $10, (a little more than it costs to get them to that age) it's amazing how many people want to buy them! If they're naughty, then they definitely need to be food.

today is day 21 for my hatch started with 30 down to 22 4 not fertile and 4 stopped developing early on. I heard cheeping and saw quite a few pipping before I left for work can't wait to see what I come home to

Hatch days should be automatic vacation days. Good luck!

I think that's one thing I love about my Seramas, never know what color you'll get.

And what IS IT with the excessive numbers of males??? At least we aren't alone. Seems everywhere, larger percentages of males are hatching!

I have one unhatvhed egg left in the incubator. It is a little over a over due. The last hatchling was 20 hours ago. We have candled. It looks right, but no movement. I tapped, no sounds.

I just floated. It floated right, but no movement. How long do you leave it in the incubator? How long before it explodes? I'd hate to throw it away if it was viable, but my instinct tells me it is not.
Help! This is my first hatch. We have been very lucky with 14/18 chicks (2 never developed). I don't know what to do with our last egg.
Leave it for another day before tossing.
