MARCH 2021 HATCH-A-LONG 🌷🌸🌼

The owner felt really bad about deleting my order so he pretty much asked me what I wanted and he would send it. I told him that I didn't care. Send me a surprise mix. When I was looking at Silkie chicks online, it seemed like the Buff ones were also yellow/white as chicks. I know my BO chickens were yellow as chicks so I guess that makes sense. I really don't care what colors they are....they will all be loved just the same, but I do think your Splash Silkie is absolutely gorgeous! I hope to get one like that.... I also like the blue Silkies a lot and it looks like I might have one of those.... Watching them grow and change color is going to be really fun! I told my daughter that we need to handle them every day so they stay tame. I will be building them their own covered coop so they will be their own flock. Now let's just hope I don't end up with a bunch of roosters! :fl

Thank you. It is a huge investment for me that so far has been disappointing. i spoke with the builder yesterday. The wafer was causing conflict with the electronic thermostat so he told me to remove it. The temp has stabilized more since I removed it. I’m still looking at the Brinsea OVA Easy and may sell this to someone who loves the brand and understands the mechanics of it after this hatch.
That really sucks. I’m sure you went out of your way to not mention the brand but if you don’t want to say in public forum maybe PM? I was super curious the first time I saw it.

My unpacking experience is on a thread in this forum and the disappointment is real. The temp has remained more steady since I removed the back up wafer but it is not entirely satisfactory. I’m just speaking of the temp inside the door as it is measured by the digital thermometer included with the incubator. If I were measuring the temp in different areas I’d have had a panic attack by now. I’m giving it time. Maybe it needs more of an educated owner. I’m used to just pushing buttons and forgetting it with Brinsea.

Been a bit busy and not able to update on my eggs. My White Bresse eggs arrived on Friday. The seller and I had worked out to label the box "honey" as they came from a region that I have a hard time getting eggs from (USPS handling issues). The box arrived in excellent condition!! Not a single cracked or broken egg and the air cells were some of the best I have ever had for shipped eggs!! I set them Saturday morning. Today was day 3 and I candled 5 just to check for viability. All 5 showed veining!! I will candle all 16 of them on day 7.

What a great (and hilarious) idea!
