March 2023 hatch-a-long

Just had 4 chicks hatch on 3/6.

Possible breed Could be:

- Cross of Australorp Roo x ameraucana hen
- Pure Australorps
- cross of Australorp roo x ameraucana/australorp mix

The girl I got my eggs from wasn’t sure if they were pure ameraucana or EE, so I assume they are EE, although the parents did lay blue eggs. last pic is the ameraucana/EE??

Was feeding my 'indoor' flock and found two eggs in the OEGB enclosure! I'll see if one of the girls (three of them) wants to go broody. Only have the one incubator, and I honestly would rather have the moms raise the chicks.

Oh they will be fun to see how they grow out! Parents in last pic? Are really beautiful!

The moms are the best, especially when they trust you with them! So fun

Started with a dozen eggs from a coworker, set in the incubator on 2/18. After 5 days pulled a clear. Candled one last time tonight, and happy to report tomorrow I will be locking down the other 11. Hoping to have decent results as it is our first hatch.
