March 21 or so hatching

I think I see development in all my eggs only I that I am worried about, but do not know enough to pitch it yet, I am still hogging for the best. We could see movement in a couple last time, very exciting. 10 days left, wow time flies.

I do have a blanket that I've been putting over the incubator on the weekends...Maybe I will try that so I can find anymore "empty" eggs. Would prefer after school since it would probably muss up my hair and then I'd have to "live with it like that" all day. (I hate having my hair in my face and the school is so dry that it doesn't take much to make it flyaway.)

I haven't made up my mind what to do about this last weekend. Should I put the blanket over the incubator, keep the humidity low. and leave the turner going for Friday (day 16), Saturday (day 17) and Sunday (day 18) and finally take them out of the turner Monday morning (day 19) or Should I take them out of the turner at 3pm Friday (day 16), lay them down out of the turner, increase the humidity, leave the blanket off (for oxygen in case they start hatching). Using the blanket, the 24 hr memory of the thermometer has shown the temperature at 102 over the weekends. Otherwise, during the school day, the temps register 99/100. Short term highs may mean earlier hatch. I know some people have had chicks hatch in the turners, but if anything should happen while I'm not there...

I'm leaning strongly to the second option. Has anyone taken eggs out of the turners a few days early? Did you have any problems like chicks stuck since they weren't rotated a couple more days?

I would recommend just taking them off the turner early and raise humidity. Day 19 would be a bit late and I would worry that they would shrink wrap if there isn't enough humidity..

Decisions, decisions!

I cancelled my eggs ( it's about day 11) and some are dark but one side of the egg is light, like it's part of the air sack, I've cancelled and hatched eggs before but I can't remember this ever happening. Is this normal??

A pic would be helpful, but I think I know what you mean. Could it be the yolk? I've had some that had the dark spot and then the rest of the egg is lighter, but not as light as the air sac.
