An update for HappyhensNY: Out of the nine porcelain d'uccle eggs that I set on Saturday 7 have started developing!

One arrived with a hair line crack that I tried sealing with wax....no surprise there that it didn't start......and one had a badly scrambled air cell.

IF these 7 make it to hatch I will consider myself blessed indeed!

Thanks for the opportunity to try hatching out some of your daughter's birds!

To go back a bit to the discussion about the PO.

I received 5 boxes of eggs in the last 2 days. All were marked "Fragile", only one was marked "Hatching Eggs". That is the only one that had broken eggs in it. I think the OP was right. Translate Hatching eggs= target!

I bought those ones off the Crazy 24 hour Auction thread! They are Black Copper Marans. The other 3 dark ones are Wellsummer.

I was supposed to get eggs from Bhep yesterday.....none.....mail just came today and no eggs today either.......the track and confirm site hasn't been updated since the 12th. (

Is it time to worry yet? lol

WHAT THE HECK..... Wolfie got her all the way to CA, shipped the same day !!!

I just checked.....should have been delivered yesterday.

My post office is great. The two clerks there are really getting to know me.

The one is super nice. When I call and say I'm expecting a box, she'll put the lookout for me. I went to pick up two boxes today and told them I was expecting one more. Got a call at 5:37 tonight from her that it came and would I like to pick it up. I couldn't get down there fast enough. Now, my mailcarrier, that's another story. She barely wants to get out of her car to deliver a box. I wasn't able to pick one up once, and I came home to it laying in the middle of the sidewalk just next to the driveway. Not even an attempt to find it shelter from the elements at all. I have 1 out of 6 growing in the bator from that box right now.

I have to admit, I am addicted to hatching and have received tons of eggs. I have only had one box with a totally broken egg in it and that was due to poor packing. The USPS really has been good to me so far. (I'm knocking on wood). Not to say I'm sure things don't happen. People generally just aren't carefull with other people's stuff.

Look what my missing project pullet came home with!!!!! I took 7 of her 8 away.



I got 2 chicks out of 49 to hatch. My humidity was way down, but my girl came home like I knew she would and brought me babies! I see 4 different roo and she laid these eggs next door where only one other hen can get to. hmmmm

Im sorry that the eggs were broken to those that I sent eggs. I was told by my Post Master that if I didn't write on the box hatching eggs I could get in trouble. So I'm dammed if I do and Dammed if I don't... I've never had this problem before where they got dropped kicked. I don't know what to do. My post office can't ship them out like the use to or the eggs get lost and then found 10 days later.. So now they ship the packages along with other packages...

Seems to me it doesn't matter if I mark just Fragile either or Do NOT X-RAY the eggs get lost or broken.. Sorry that the eggs got broken...

I guess I wont be sending out anymore Hatching eggs until the Post Office knows what they are doing............. I didn't mean for them to get broken...
