Temperature dropped to 92 degrees

it was like that for a couple of hours at least.....I know the eggs cooled down, I am working right now to raise it back up. These were the eggs that I set Sunday that are in my Hovabator....I have no idea what happened, it has been stable since Sunday! The only thing I can think of is I bumped the screw where you adjust the temperature when I added water this morning. Do you think I killed them all? Can they handle such a low temp like that and be OK? I am sooooo worried!

They are up to 97 and rising slowly

they will be fine. You can set my Brinsea to do that on purpose, but I haven't tried it yet

i am putting some in today that i collected yesterday, they are d'uccles and its been cold here. i want to know if the 30 degree temps will stop them (i did collect the same day ). pus these are mostly from my pattern pen and they finally laid a decent amount in one day, even got a virgin egg. problem is this cold wave-even in TX!! my temp is at 97.7 right now and that is on a thermometer on top of the eggs.

This is my first time incubating so don't quote me on this, but I think the temperature is supposed to be between around 99.5 for forced air, and a little higher for still air. Good luck with your cold eggs, I have some that were lost in the mail for seven day during the week it was 11 below zero. I am going to candle them Sunday and will let you know if I get anything I just reread this and saw that you just put them in, you probably know about the temps right? Sorry! I am just stressing over my downward spike I just had, I need to read more carefully!!

They will be fine.Dave Holderread in Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks explains how to use a cooling method on duck eggs to get a higher hatch rate.& also that isn't long enough to kill them.

Thank you! That is encouraging, the temp is almost up now. Who knew incubating eggs would be such an emotional roller coaster!

they will be fine. You can set my Brinsea to do that on purpose, but I haven't tried it yet

That will work out good, then. You getting any more eggs from your girls to add? All at 10 days or less should be fine.
Hopefully I will have some EEs pipping by then. Day 21 is Thursday

Well, they aren't the most reliable layers (they're polish) so it's kind of off and on with the eggs still. However, I just have the Brinsea Mini so I'm only going to have room for 7 eggs. I'll have to do some deciding when the shipped eggs get here!

You can stack eggs. Then shift them into a permanent position once you toss any clears.

How often do you need to turn eggs if you're stacking them? I got the Brinsea with the automatic turner since I'm at work 7-6 4 days a week. Maybe I'm thinking you have to turn eggs more often than they really need? Because if I can stack eggs I would like that very much. I want to try and get as many offspring from this batch as I can since I don't know how old my rooster is (he just showed up one day and ended up staying with me when I couldn't find his owner) and I like him well enough that I'd like his lineage to last a little while with me.

Well..... Let me just open up another can of worms here...
My breeder friend who goes to poultry conferences told me about a study done that showed the most vital time for turning is the first week. After that, you wouldn't need to turn at all (although, I think I personally would turn once a day).
So, in theory, you could put the eggs from your flock in now, and then when your shipped eggs get there, put your flock's eggs on top of those. Also, seems to me that the way the Mini works would actually somewhat turn the stacked eggs as well...
