March Hatch A Long... anyone with me??

You want to up the humidity the last three days of the hatch (I go to 60-65% with good success) The two problems you could have if you have staggered hatches is turning the later eggs after you have gone into lock down with the first ones and the higher humidity needed for the first ones hatching negatively affecting the others. If they were only a day apart.. you should be fine but if you had a week between first and last you would probably have problems. Most people who have staggered hatches use a second incubater as a hatcher and move eggs to it once they are ready for lock down..

HTH.. Good luck!!

Please count me in

I set 12 Polish native greenlegged patrige eggs (one cracked a bit but sealed with wax) 24 hours ago. I have a homemade incubator - still air. Hope the eggs are fertile all right

I just hope they'll hatch because my last hatch was a disaster. But I've change the heat source in the bator and aded a thermostat so it's pretty steady this time. Can't wait to candle them

Hi Steven
Have you hatched geese before? I have some Pilgrims on order for the end of March and I've heard they're more difficult to hatch than chicken eggs. I've been reading up, but if you'd like to pass along any words of wisdom I'm all ears.

To add to this, I decided to set a few BBS Orps and one Delaware today. The fertility in the Orp pen is sketchy and this is the first incubation post-butt-fluff trim, LOL. Four BBS Orps, 2 Blue Orp x RIR/Buff Orp (Meg), and one Del are due to hatch March 4th.

***** Candled this batch today and sadly, it seems that Suede has lost fertility. The only remaining egg is a Delaware and I'm tempted to just remove it from the bator at this point.

No this is my first year with goose eggs but I have hatched duck eggs before and it basically the same thing with duck eggs except for more days of incubation.

Ohh and it's better to hand turn with goose eggs since they lay flat
