March Hatch A Long... anyone with me??

Hi Steven
Have you hatched geese before? I have some Pilgrims on order for the end of March and I've heard they're more difficult to hatch than chicken eggs. I've been reading up, but if you'd like to pass along any words of wisdom I'm all ears.

me too, my son wants duck eggs and DH wants cacklers...

I would suggest getting ducklings first then hatch some eggs IMO

Cacklers I have no idea I would think you would buy them as goslings or juv. or adults... I would contact Spectrum Ranch for Cacklers.

Hello,

I Am pretty new to this hatching lark, but I put in 12 eggs on Friday, which are due around 4th March. It's a right mixture of eggs as follows:
1x Blue laced Barnevader
2x Double-laced
1x Vorwerk
1x Cuckoo Maran
1x Cream Legbar
2x Lavender Araucana
1x Light Sussex
1x Andalusian
2x Ixworths

I did my first hatch last year, which was quite successful considering all the stop start at the beginning, (broody, unbrooody, broody, shall we just get an incubator). We have upgraded since then and now have a good candler, auto turner, and humidity monitor, so hoping it will all go to plan!

I just dropped my thermometer/hygrometer onto the eggs when I went to turn them. One of the Marans eggs sustained some damage. A small dented in crack. So, I put a piece of scotch tape over just that area. I hope I didn't kill it. It isn't leaking, and the membrane didn't tear, so I'm

Well, I am now the proud owner of 15 eggs for a March 6th hatch. They were for my son's preschool to hatch, but now they can't do it, and I just secured all the eggs today. So I'm in!
