my temps go up and down with my humidity. and when I add more water my temps drop... I'm trying a dry hatch....which really isn't dry, just lower humidity... it's working so far....except that i haven't candled yet. so I really DON'T know the out come. IDK...

good luck

I don't know if this is how it is supposed to be done, but when I add water, I make it about 110 degree water. Temps seem to recover quickly..

Count from days completed, so, 24 hours after beginning to incubate you have completed one day. After 18 days are completed, they go into lockdown. Does this make more sense?

I will be setting eggs on the 25 to hatch on 17th(st.patty's day).
The eggs so far:
Dozen mixed from my hens
Dozen storebought eggs (Farmer's Pride Fertile Eggs from New Leaf)

and any more I collect before then.

Thats really helpful, so yep, on Day 11 now for me then (glad I got that sorted before lockdown is due.

As for the chicken - its a Burford Brown - popular UK Chicken - I attach a picture of one (together with a maran as its the only picture I could easily find). I have two crossed with Lavendar Aruacanas currently, which are really pretty - Dark coloured with green and purple flashes, and one of them has red flame coloured markings on her front - and both have fluffy cheeks and a fluffy head!!

Is your bator working now or can you quick get another. In January I had 2 days of where my bator got unplugged temps got as low as yours and I still had all but three hatch. They were just a few days behind. So dont give up yet. I set 6 duck eggs due out March 16th and a dozen from the February egg swap due March 15th. I also have 2 hatched this morning and 1 more pipped so far.

I am eaglerly awaiting my chicks who should start hatching March 4th! I just had to throw away two "quitters" who developed blood rings and a perceivable odor. The eight left are doing great!
