Set 1 is officially marked and on lockdown! I'm really sad. I set 29 eggs and only have 10 left! I candled this morning and only actually saw 3 wigglers, but they r so full, idk how they could move anyway. Guess I'll know how many I have in a few days!! :)
So glad I got a new bator! Hopefully set 2 will do much better, but its only in day 3. So who knows!!

Candled my quail eggs last night just to see, 43 have visible veins, the other 30 were either clear looking or way too hard to see into!

I remember trying to candle my button quail eggs..that was hard to do! ha..good luck..sounds like you have some on the way.

Thanks! These are Cortunix, but not overly easy. Thankfully I had a good light from trying marans last years (no luck really, they were shipped). How do you like your quail? This is my first time and everything I've seen said Cortunix are the eaisest.

That was years ago, I only kept them for a short time..inside! I had this very nice big cage, and thought they would be happy in there. I could tell right away that they needed to be in an outdoor set up. Pretty wild little things. Here are a couple of photos of them. I had read that they could be kept inside..and they can, but, I decide to let them go to a man that had quite a nice outdoor set up.
Here is the cage from the top.

The front..shows the light.

With the room lights on. Top opens, and side opens. I now have a canary in it. :)

My babies in it a little older. My DH put up plexi glass around the bottom.

When they were just a day old.

They were fun for a while. For me. :)
