March Hatch-A-Long.( How is it gettting here so quick ? LOL )

What causes scrambling? Shipping?

Yes it can. Despite the best efforts of the person I purchased them from, if postal workers don't notice the huge letters saying "FRAGILE HATCHING EGGS! THIS END UP!" Then they get tossed or bounced around too much. Unfortunately MY post office didn't notice the huge letters reading "HOLD AND CALL FOR PICK UP (my phone number)" So they also got bounced all over my county in the backseat of the mail truck.

that's so sad...I pack the eggs I sell so tight...there's no way the individual eggs can jiggle...sorry

what a shame
it's really so easy to pack them well so I don't get why people don't!! I've had reports of every egg starting so I know it can happen and I myself have had 100% hatch rate with shipped eggs that were packed very well....always check the feed back

I have to say, he did pack them very very well. I've personally witnessed my postal worker digging out a package from her backseat b4 though. She reaches back and just shoves boxes here and there and if one happens to do a ton of flips in the process of getting ahold of another, she pays no attention. He had them wrapped individually in 3-4 layers of bubble wrap, and so tight in the box, I struggled to get the 1st one out. These r my 1st shipped eggs, but I feel like he probably did all he could. Just a chance we take I guess.

yes it sounds like he did...some post people care...mine are really great they know I hatch...if I'm not here they won't leave them in the mail box they put them on the porch in the shade or take the time to tell me they were kept in the facility instead of out in the truck all night...any chance your eggs got too cold in transit? after 15 days of incubating they would have been degraded internally

It'll be ok. I went ahead and decided to just join in on the Sizzle project since I have a whole new coop and run for my Bantams, but no bantams to put in it. Lol

Some NN's and OE's and EE, and others will go into lock down tomorrow. Just marked the air sacs, put the liner in, just have to turn them once more tonight.

Hopefully I'll have better luck with set 2 that just went into the new bator yesterday. And I got NEW CHICKENS today!!! 11 babies and a pair that are already breeding age! So I'll have eggs coming out my ears soon!! Yay! Congrats on ur babies and good luck!

They are all doing great. One little chick had his beak open tonight trying to crow. My daughter brought me 2 half Chihuahuas puppies (about 5 weeks old) to go with little Harry tonight. She thought it would be a nice anniversary present for us to go along with all the chickens and chicks. Keeping me outta trouble I guess. LOL
