OOO!!! Internal pip. :) I heard serama's tend to be early because of their small size. Make sure you boosted the humidity and sit on your hands. Good luck.

Im stumped about my dead chicken ,. She was healthly no problems thougt she got electrocuted but that wasnt it as the cord wasnt plugged in so?? choked???
Have no idea. it was very rainy and cold about 36...but she wasnt trying to stay warm was out foraging.
WEll igues Ill never know.
I had 11 LOS hatch and 8 little black Orp x brahmas
Now lock is today i think for my silkie EES im worried just because theyre more rare....so scared none will hatch.

Thank you for your response. I went ahead and locked down all the eggs on Friday and had 3 hatch yesterday and two today. Three more have peeped. Seems to be going pretty well one of the eggs that was due to hatch later already hatched! Thanks again for your response!

So far I've had 5 hatch 3 yesterday and 2 today. Three more have peeped so those should hatch later on today. One of the eggs that I had placed later actually hatched a day early so it seems to have worked out fine. I just locked them down all together and have kept the humidity above 70%. Good luck on our hatches!

One chick is out! She's resting with the cap on her head. Me and 2 friends from work walked in just in time to watch her push out. It was so cool to watch; I'm sure had anyone witnessed us they would have laughed til they cried at our enthusiasm.

Me too! That was fast from the pip to the zip. Of course it could have pipped last night. But from when I got up in the morning and saw it, it was probably just an hr. before it hatched. Congrats on your new baby!!

Oh dear, sorry for your loss..I know how you feel truly. I lost two during this past winter. It's so hard when you lose a good hen.

I have guinea keets!

They were supposed to come on the 20th, but noooo, they had to come early. My sister comes flying into my room and yells, "The quail are hatching!" So I get up and come in there and sure enough, there's a keet rocketing around my 'bator. Only 3 of 9 made it, but I'm happy with what I have.
Congrats with all the hatches!

Hey guys. I'm starting a new hatch tonight or tomorrow morning. I was trying to calibrate my cheap analog hygrometer between hatches but for some reason, it isn't working. I keep getting readings off the meter 80+%. Yesterday I tried it for 12 hrs and it wouldn't come down. I'm placing it in a sealed plastic bag with a milk cap full of salt and a couple of drops of water per the instructions on several humidor sites. I'm going to try to put it inside another, larger bag just to be sure it's sealed but other than that, I don't know what to do. It seemed to be reading decently during the last hatch but I wanted to be more accurate for this one. I guess I should have left well enough alone! What am I doing wrong? Any thoughts?

I cant keep up with all that happening here.

You alll are so active. But any ways I went into lockdown yesterday . 17 of my 43 eggs set are still viable. Alot of quitters and infertility this hatch. Im already starting to collect eggs to hatch again. Everyone of my girls laid an egg yesterday.

I'll have time to select some really good eggs to put under her. I'm getting some really good eggs too right now. +70 grams and not a double yolker amongst them.

I'm trying some new things this hatch. The dry incubator seems to have helped. I lined the incubator with an old towel and am now using an old dish cloth soaked in peroxide(to prevent mill dew) and hot water to raise the humdity.

Its crunch time and time is crawling once more.
