How do you guys lay your eggs for lockdown? Side? Fat end up?

I set mine in egg cartons and punch a hole in the bottom of each cup...........always fat end up...........
I don't know why..just works for me ............

The black one's name is Baby, as in Naked Baby.

The buff one's name is Honey Boo Boo.

Today is day 20 for my eggs and I have about 3 piped and some more rolling around in the bator. I am worried because when I got home from work my humidity was down to 45. I opend and added water then pluged the two holes. I am worried the ones that have piped already my be stuck does anyone have any suggestions?

Well things are not going so great here. I had an issue with one of my lights and ended up with 2 weeping eggs this morning I checked them and the one I was sure was developing stopped and is dead The other was infertile (phew!).

I'm worried about the rest of my eggs now. I candled on Saturday, would it hurt if I candled again tonight to check on them? I don't want to handle them too much.
This is my first batch ever. We were so excited over these little babies, I hope the others are okay.

Lol thanks. I was just wondering. We always hatched our quail that way, but are new to hatching chicks

Ok humidity is back up to 62 percent, but I have one egg that piped on the bottom and it seems to have some kind of discharge coming out of it. I looks kind of like isulation or something that is sticking out about 1/4 inch. I know its not part of the chick because it is yellowish and these are all BCM eggs. Can anyone help with what this might be?
