March Hatch-Along Thread- Come Hatch With Us!!!!!

I have heard that temp spikes can sometimes cause early hatching (not always a good thing) there was a few times that happened with this hatch, that's all I can think for the early birds!

Sometimes bantams hatch a day or two early so I wouldn't be too concerned.

YEAH FOR YOU!!!! Looks like a popcorn popper at your house. Go chickies go!!!

Ha!!! I was trying to remember who said popcorn!!! Yes!! I have 8 now and many more pipped and one almost out!

And while its a pretty little egg, it looks a lot bigger in the pic!! It's just a little thing :)

Lost count!! Lol!!! Gonna take some meds watch some duck dynasty and wait to see what hatches on actual hatch day tomorrow!!!

Starting to have doubts if mine will hatch at all. I have a lg still air but the temps jump from 98.3ish to over 102 every few hours. We have to check it every couple hours. I have the milk top on the knob. It will stay occasionally perfect for a few hours then the next time we check it, we're cooking eggs..... getting really flustered with this.

I removed the chicks from the bator this morning since today is day 3 of life for at least 2 of them. I made sure there were no pips in any of the other eggs. I left the bator on and about an hour later heard chirping coming from my room, yup I missed one! There were so many chicks in te bator sitting all over the eggs I didn't notice one was completing zipped! I ended up helping it a little, he is still trying to pop the lid.

AWW poor baby! So glad you found it & hope it's doing good

Ya know I have been thinking.... I am really liking this hatch thing .... I don't have any chicks yet but yet I can't wait to put on a bunch more to hatch once these ones r out of the bator .... A lot of u folks live n the city and are limited on how many birds u can keep .... The thing that bothers me is I live in the country my husband is a builder and I can get great eggs within 1/4 mile for 2.50 per dozen to hatch ...... This doesn't make a good combination !!!!! Lol
Yep it's a bad combination LOL I know! I also live in the country, have a husband who can build etc- but I can't get eggs locally, or not the breeds I want- but that didn't stop me! Been buying eggs & if I can't get the eggs been buying the chicks. My DH is wondering when I'll have 'enough'?

Well we used to have a horse but he died last fall ....he was old . ( our daughters horse) of whom wants to hatch ducks next lol
And since we have the fenceing we r thinking of getting a few cows this summer and by summer I prob will have hatched out a bunch of chickies .... And there really isn't anything I don't like about it ..... I am truely blessed!!!!!
It is a blessing! I feel the same. I have 2 horses, 7 dogs, 2 cats and over 50 chickens now & 2 ducks. Thinking of raising some meat rabbits too... endless possibilities...

We'll I feel really, really bad right now... While I was candling, I accidentally dropped an egg... It was developing too... I feel really, really bad. :(
