Candled my polish & sultan eggs, 10 developing nicely w/ good veining! Plus my SLW eggs (3 broken & she didn't send any extras) I set 15 of them. Also set the Columbian Wyandotte eggs. Lots of extras and none broken- set 17 eggs. I'm still waiting on the Lemon Cuckoo Orp eggs, should have been here by now...

So now it's THE WAIT...

Wow day 20!! Is it normal for eggs to hatch b4 21 days!!!

yep there must have been a few days were temp was 100 or so but some just hatch early its fine

That is so true- but I still have my southern accent, I couldn't change it if I wanted LOL

YEA!! So glad some ppl do. A shame for it to go extinct.They need to give kids today classes in "accent " for the region .Why all sound the same.? So boring!!

Day 20 for my current eggs in my home made bator.
So far so good.
Had an almost disaster today My circuit went off and all my bators went dead and alt the brooders. too!!
Fortunately i caught it in time and only had gone to 97 but i was in a full blown tizzy until i found what was wrong Running bators to other rooms to plug in .LOL.Panic city.
Always some new heart pounding thing every hatch isnt it

I set my eggs in the homemade bator on 2/22. Temp 100F Humidity between 30-45% We set 10 eggs, but at day 7 we had to remove 4. They weren't fertilized. So, now we are hoping all goes well. We are going to set another batch on 3/8.

So sorry for your egg problem Sound like you have the humidity and temp abut right
Now just to have some eggs hatch huh?They should do well .

Got my 3rd gold laced brahma egg today want so bad to set some but i guess this early the chicks might be screwed up Anybody set the first eggs?
How were they ?
Heck i dont even know if the roo fertilizes them!

read on another site...please don't ask, I have short term memory blindness and couldn't tell you other than something garden, anyway, someone said that they have never herd of better than 90% hatch rate for shipped eggs. And somewhere else on ebay, someone if stating that 25% is common, 50% good, and 75% rare...

anyway, it appears that hatching shipped eggs has problems. Can't all be the post office though.

Well, my humidity was dropping so I just took the incubator into my (very) steamy bathroom...and my water trays are already nearly dried up! So I filled them again, rigged up my sponge, and put some airline tubing into one of the water trays so I could at least fill it. I also managed to candle everyone quickly and they are all still alive, but no internal pips yet. Looks like they won't be coming early afterall! Now I can relax

I got it pretty wet in there trying to be fast, so the humidity is trying to get pretty high right now. I'll have to baby it until it dries out a bit.
