My Serama eggs are due on the 21st in the morning. It's so squished in the BMA - somehow I managed to fit 17... Don't even ask, lol. Hoping to be able to eventually put the turning tray back in, but maybe I'll get lucky and have more develop? Crossing my fingers. My friends call me the "Master Hatcher" after the 100% hatch last time... But I'm positive that won't happen ever again, lol.

My hatch is due on the 21st too!

Mine got down to 20%. Added water and it jumped up to 70%! It is down to 59% after a couple of hours. Debating what to do, if anything. Suggestions?

I would find the air leak & add a few wet sponges...quickly!

Ive never had a hatch buddy before! Mine are duck eggs... 8 Runner x australian spotted & 2 pure australian spotted. I lost the other 7 pure australian spots because of horrible shipment. But I'm getting more Aussies & trout runners to set right after this hatch! What about u?

I am wondering....with having staggered hatch dates....how do you control humidity and turning after lockdown ?

I had a staggered hatch in Feb... I built a "hatchbox" with its own humidity system/ hygrometer. I got a 50% hatch on all DIY incubator, hatchbox, brooder things I made! I think that's pretty good for my 1st time with all odds against me! If I had to add another egg for lockdown, I would close all air vents, kick it up to 70% then stick the egg in quick Stay between 60-65%. Be ready to fill your humidity systems while you are opening.

I started out was just going to get a 'few' HA! I'm now up to 53- all between the ages of 6 days to 3mo. so yea I understand!

umm yeah....I already want a 4th incubator...and I cant even KEEP them!!! LOL!!!

It was mandarins I first wanted, they are so beautiful- but I've read they are not so friendly or easy to tame- calls on the other hand are both... I might end up w/ none the way it's looking - IF not I'll just put more fish in the pond

Pug that happened to me too. Last July when I built my first bator and only wanted to hatch out some chickens for eating eggs. I now have over 100 chickens. At least I have pretty much stopped buying eggs. I have all the breeds I want and the first sets that I hatched are starting to lay eggs.

Over 100 chickens and you have "pretty much stopped buying eggs"??? Only pretty much? How many have started laying? Soon you will be swimming in eggs!! YAHOO!

I found the Paypal/Hatching egg swap (very addictive) on BYC and I still claim some now and then. I eventually want to get unrelated trio's or quads going which is why I still "buy occasionally." The only birds I have that have started to lay are my GSBR/Blue plymouth rocks, my reg. BR and my silkies. The others are still too young but from this month on I have teenagers that are going on 5-6 months so I should be getting more eggs soon.
