I just set 10 Silkie showgirl eggs from my own stock on the first! Going to candle tonight to see how they are doing. I did hatch some on Christmas and they are all doing great!

At least one of the chicks that hatched from 2 green eggs has cheek puffs! Have to see if I have another one.

My call ducks didn't hatch, opened up this morning- all dead. The 2 eggs I never could tell about were fully formed ducks- so I lost all 3. I won't try ducks again...

I am sorry about the ducks. My kids wanna do ducks and turkeys so bad. I don't think I could handle it right now though!

BTW I named my little TSC frizzle chick Peachy- she's still that 'peach' color too

I never throw out eggs unless I'm positive it's not gonna make it/already dead.

Baby chick number one hatched!! Anybody have any suggestions on what breed it might be? We just had a bunch of eggs donated, majority of them mixes. My students are guessing RIR, but I'm thinking it looks more like a Buff chick...

My big group (23 if they are all still going strong) is going under lockdown on Sunday! So baby chick won't be by itself for very long!

Oops. I didn't finish story.

So he is ok now blood work was elevated in some areas so have to do more blood work on him tomorrow at his dr apt. Hopefully then we will come home to some new babies! I am praying we do. And I am praying we find out what is wrong with my son.
