Okay. Fair warning. I totally geeked out with my weight statistics.

I calculated that the eggs should be losing 17.88 grams a day, which works out to .76%. Today is Day Sixteen and they should be at 2061 grams, but are actually at 2094. That means they are only 1.61% above what they should be. This is with the incubator at around 45% for the first fourteen days, and running completely dry for the past two. The humidity has been bouncing around from 9-22% in the incubator without water added. Indoor humidity is around 35%. Will continue to run it dry for two more days and then lockdown!

I am happy with this and can live with it. Hopefully the chickies agree.

I am worried that I'm not turning the eggs enough... I've been turning them 3+ times a day, but it seems like the chicks are all at one side of the shell... Am I just being paranoid?

Aww thanks guys!!! I love it whenever I can do something nice for someone and Pug would REALLY be helping me out too! I truly want to get some experience at shipping before I just go charging people for eggs on Ebay or whatever without having ever done it ya know? I KNOW how it is to spend money on eggs, and have them arrive packed as if the seller just didn't care how they got there or even IF they got there. The all mighty dollar does NOT dictate my life or my decisions the way it does some. Now, some sellers do their very best and it still doesn't work out, but that's just the risk with shipped eggs. I'm the type of person though that if the buyer had a bad hatch, it would probably bother me MORE than it does them! haha! I would HAVE TO make it right!

I love the lavender color too Pug and like you, hadn't really seen it in Calls. It's an exciting project for sure and so far, I'm really happy with the progress. I sent you a PM about the eggs and such...just let me know how you want to go about this. I'm super excited to see you hatch some Call ducks!

Nope. Grams. If it were weighed in kilograms then they should lose .001788kg a day. They should be 2.061kg but are actually 2.094. Or, am I totally not understanding what you're asking?

3 times a day is perfect i do three sometimes four

Dear Book : Stop freaking out

Because I am freaking out.
1 hatched yesterday.2 egg left.thought they were dead.
Did the unforgivable and listened with a stethascope yesterday....no sound, no movement.
Have been having terrific problems with humidity.believed they were toast for sure.
Did the unthinkable awhile ago.wrapping the egg in a wet warm wash cloth.
They both chirped at me.............Now have one pip.
Now fearing I messed them up checking.grrrrrrrrrrr
The one that hatched yesterday took forever.........pipped in the sometime during the night, not much happening by dinner,
checked later and the little bugger was running around the incubator..........

Don't freak out! I mess with mine ALL THE TIME. Yes, I know I shouldn't, but I do. Every time I walk past, I check the humidity, check the temp, touch the egg to feel it move(and worry half to death if it doesn't). I've always had good hatches, and I hope you have good luck with the rest of yours!

Ok so I've decided to do a little experiment, I'm doing the dry incubation method and the humidity for lock down isn't to high. But I think I may leave the ones due saturday in with my eggs that are due a week after. I'll just keep the humidity down a little lower to allow the other eggs to loose the moisture again. Anyone think this'll work?

a few of mine (very first hatch ever run) into lockdown either tonight (after midnight) or tomorrow night....but gotta get sleep so I can work tomorrow!

one still movin and groovin, another might be hopeful....the other 2 stopped growning around day 10.

What a pretty baby. I have some possible NN's in my bator. Lock down is Sat. NN roo over either an EE, a RIR, or even, a silkie! That would be fun, a bantam NN.
