March Hatch-Along Thread- Come Hatch With Us!!!!!

Sounds like me too! My hubby asked me a couple of days ago, "So...exactly how many birds are running around here now?". Haha...I said, "Babe, I don't know and you don't wanna know either. It's best not to count.". Hehe

my husband was trying to do a head count yesterday- but there were so many running around he gave up. He said well I know all I need to know- it's too many! I said yes & don't forget the 2 full bators!

WOW!!! I missed one day and 216 posts. Congrats and condolences all that have them coming.

I candled eggs again last night and had 16 more that had to be tossed. Rings and quitters mostly.

I cracked them all open to see what had happened inside and my candling was true all 16 had died. 43-16-8= 19 Hopefully this doesn't repeat my highlander expeirience of two years ago. THERE CAN BE MORE THAN ONE! As frustrating as it is to loose eggs like this I didn't expect all 43 of those eggs to hatch. Don't get me wrong it would have been awesome if that had happened but, my poor hatch rate is something I tried to account for this year by setting more eggs. Hopefully in time and a newer incubator I achieve a 100% hatch but for now loosing eggs is a reality I have to just deal with.

Just locked down! All look good so far, had some wigglers already!? Only day 18? Hrm hopefully that's a good thing! Sqweeee!! I'm excited!! Hehehe!!

Day 14 for my 2nd hatch and I swear time is standing still!!! Can't wait to candle them tonight to see their progress. I set 37 eggs. Removed 4 that turned out to be infertile & one with a blood ring. I didn't have any with blood rings so it was a good experience for me. Much better to see it in person than in picture. That leaves me with 32 that were fertile and had movement in them during the last candle. I'm hoping at least 20 of those hatch happy and healthy.

i have a question after my hatch my bator is a mess but i have one egg in there that is due on the 15 candled it and its alive but my question is shuold i clean the bator or leave it and if i shuold clean it how chuold i keep the egg warm ?
