This little guy hatched at 12:16 am!! And they seem to be going like popcorn!

Sounds like you've got it under control...don't stress too much!!! You're doing great!

I candled and it looks like 1 or 2 may be quitters. Before I toss them though, I would like some confirmation that they are... Will post pics tomorrow.

Anyone ever have a chick pip through a blood vessel and still live? Mine is looking awfully still.

But, I have five chicks that have successfully hatched already, and we are only about six hours into Day 21! 40 made it to lockdown, so 35 more to go.

I've had one do it but he clipped a big'n and bled out so it depends on how big of a vessle.

Got 4 out by 3:40 am this morning 14 hrs into day 20. Got one more pipped possibly more but the chicks think its fun to re arrange everyone so I can't see where there possible pip marks may be. Lol silly little goofs alreay want me. I shine the flash light in one side the wobble to it, shibe the other side and the scramble over eggs to get to that side. Cute little buggers, its sad that I may have to part with these little things

X2. I just caught up from yesterday and was hoping to see a good news post when I got to the bottom.

Power went out last night during our "snowstorm" and luckily the bator was done and unplugged but then there were the babies... I had to get them out of the brooder and snuggle with them in bed. I put a towel down and sat cross-legged with them in the "well". They slept so good and hardly knew anything ever happened. Here's a crappy cell phone picture of them in the light of the flashlight:



So while I'm here, the final tally is 11 hatched of 22 eggs. 6 BO/EE mixes, 1 BO and 4 Buff Brahmas. One of the BO/EE has muffs! Oh and the last BO egg didn't make it, never pipped externally and since I was gone all day, I wasn't here to force the issue. But I have some more eggs to hatch and getting some more, hopefully, on Monday and then I'll set those. More excitement on the way! In the meantime I have these little fuzzballs to keep me busy.

Morning!!!!!!!! I have babies!!!!!!!!!! 3 so far and 2 more almost out. They woke me up so good sign, they are running around like mad dogs in there. So far I have an ee and 2 rirs. I put 27 eggs in lockdown so here's to hoping even more hatch. Thanks guys for the kind words and encouragement! Off to count more heads!!!
