Yeah I would free its head. Their wing is normally over their head, their beak comes up from under their armpit or something.

That baby looks ready! You need to make the opening a lot bigger because there's no where for it to zip.

Perfect!! That's the part I was talking about, that sometimes sticks to the baby, if it doesn't come off as he gets up to move around, no problem, take it off. Good job!

So I just went down to the coop and found two broody banty hens in there! My serama/silkie mix and my d'uccle/booted bantam. I'll be breaking the d'uccle because she is NOT friendly and her babies would be pretty feral. I'm going to let the other hatch some babies though

Okay, I owe everyone a HUGE thank you who helped me and encouraged me tonight. I'm so glad that I was able to help the little guy thanks to everyone's advice. Without you guys, this chick probably wouldn't have made it. Right now, s/he is trying to kick off that last piece of shell, and I'm only seeing one leg...?? Hopefully when I wake up in the morning s/he will have gotten the shell off and will be running around the 'bator, waiting to meet Stormy... BTW, this one is named Raine.

Nice, we have always themed out chick egg names.

First was chook meals, then hot drinks, the last lot were astro type names. Thinking the next lot might be metals/gems?

I think I'll just let her sit on the eggs in there. They'll be silkie x d'uccle, d'anver, silkie, sultan, and serama/silkie. I won't be keeping these babies though
