Here are the new chicks! Sorry that some aren't the best quality pictures but I've determined that chicks don't like to have their pictures taken. I just blame it on the camera. Here's one of the bearded ones. I have never had a bearded chick before so this is pretty neat. Our favorite "little blue" (even though he's gray) I think this one is different because of it's face.

So last day of march and I have quail pipped externally may have quail babies running around when I get home I also had chicks hatch over the weekend.

PS, as expected the last little chick didn't make it today. I did what I could with the time I had, it just wasn't meant to be..

My incubator will be full come later this week. I actually have another incubator on its way too...but I'll have to hand turn those lol.

Sorry to hear about the last chick and sorry to hear about the empty incubator! I finished with 7 out of 11... One is still looking shaky but is alive. It was on its back again when i got home so i gave it some water and a tiny bit of egg yolk. It is back on its feet for now but we will see what happens. As for an empty incubator.... I have 11 test eggs in there now, 2 dozen BCMs coming around the 16th and will begin collecting some lavs again in week. I am still thinking about getting some additional eggs for may.,,,

Nice! Thanks guys. DS keeps hinting I should swipe my Mama Mallard's stash an throw them in the bator, but OMGGGG chicks are so much nicer as far as care. I don't know that I have the energy for ducks right now. :/

I almost ordered a dozen eggs from that guy on BST who's only charging shipping. Lol! I was talking myself into as it would be good practice. Oh, I've lost it.
