March hatch along

No, I already tried again :lau

I knew there was a reason I showered & washed my hair before bed.

No, sorry forgot to say earlier.. No vitamins. Had thought of getting some today but it may be moot by then.

Called hubby when I got to work to be sure my temp isn't too high in the bator. He looked and said, "THIS thing ain't gonna make it!?"

I said, "is it breathing??" He said yes but not well.

So, we'll see. Maybe it'll surprise us!

Looks like my final hatch will be 7 of 11. I had to help the last one out of the shell but the rest hatched nicely on their own . I havent checked the remaining eggs yet do there is a remote chance that one is still cooking but I doubt it. I am happy with the results but was hoping to do a bit better. Definitely much better than last time when i got 6 out of 29. Now the bad news... One of the chicks I put into the brooder was belly up this morning and i dont think it will survive. It was totally fine last night, nicely fluffed up and seemingly healthy. I dont know what happened. I couldnt even try to help since i had to go to work. Bummer. Ive never had a healthy chick go south before so i was really surprised to see it. I hope nothing happens to any of the others as these are my lavender ameraucanas and i am trying to build up my numbers a bit and am behind in the number of chicks i wanted to hatch due to the problems from last time. I was hoping to have 15 by now and if I lose this one i will only have eight... I am going to put another dozen or son the incubator around the 17th but that puts me two months behind uuuggghh!

Here are the new chicks!
Sorry that some aren't the best quality pictures but I've determined that chicks don't like to have their pictures taken.
I just blame it on the camera. :)

Here's one of the bearded ones.
I have never had a bearded chick before so this is pretty neat.

Our favorite "little blue" (even though he's gray)

I think this one is different because of it's face.

Cute babies, I love bearded chicks and NN chicks and the best are bearded nn chicks! lol

I take lots of chick pics and the best way to get good shots is a helper, so you can concentrate on getting the pic while the helper concentrates on making sure the chick is safe and not running off.
