March hatch along

Really! I had no idea they actually purposefully turned them. Always wondered where we got that from.. ;)
they shuffle their feet and use their beak to knock them around.

There was some study published that turned eggs different numbers of times, 96 had the best hatch rate. It also stated good hens move them around every 15 minutes or so.

Dang! I guess I spend so much time on my GA thread, I get in the habit of thinking everyone lives near me lol. I was about to say I'd donate a few!

Awe that is sweet of you, but alas I am too far. Even on my PA thread, most of the chicken folks are on the eastern side and I am on the Pittsburgh or west side.

Day 20 and I have one hatched, and 6 more external pips. That is all happening in my backyard mix set, nothing yet with my bantam cochins.
oh, I wanna watch!
My silkies are on day 12/13.
For the time being, I'm going to live vicariously through you, lol. Hope those little banties make it out okay.

Got more eggs today! AND I finally got over my fear and ordered brahma eggs!! :D

These are the legbar eggs.. Got a dozen, love the color. :)
400

Well it's not necessarily a Brahma fear, more a shipping fear. Although, I DID have those seven gold laced eggs my first hatch, five of which weren't even fertile and the other two died. :(
